Sprinkler sprays water over a lush green lawn in a vibrant garden setting

Now that it seems to be heating up, here are two easy lawn watering tips summer:

Water long and infrequently – Watering your lawn each day for a short duration will encourage plants, trees and grass to create shallow root systems. We’ve all seen that sidewalk which is uneven and lifted out of the ground because of a nearby tree?! Well, this is part of the reason. Instead of watering each day, water your yard a couple of days per week and for longer periods of time. This will encourage better root development and over-all healthier plants.

Water Early In The Day – Watering early morning (not too early) will help reduce the growth of certain fungi and sun damage. It’s also typically less windy in the mornings, so you don’t have to worry about losing half your sprinkler system to the street or passing cars!

Follow these simple lawn watering tips summer, and you are bound to have a healthy lawn and yard this Summer! ….always remember, Life’s Better Outdoors!

Additionally, consider adjusting your sprinkler heads to ensure even coverage and avoid wasting water on sidewalks or driveways. It’s also a good idea to check your irrigation system regularly for leaks or clogs that could affect performance and lead to overwatering or dry patches in your yard. Adding mulch around trees and garden beds can help retain soil moisture and reduce the need for frequent watering during the hottest parts of the season. Remember, deep watering not only benefits your lawn but also conserves water over time. With these extra steps, you can maintain a beautiful green lawn while being mindful of water use, helping your landscape stay healthy all summer long.
